Counterfeit relic
Already mysterious
Creating legends
No tale has a beginning
Just a place on the spiral

The photo for this week’s prompt was taken on Glastonbury Tor as friends gathered there for the Beltane Eve and May Day celebrations last year. We had ended one of our days there with a visit to the Egg Stone… one of the dragons eggs on the slopes of the Tor. The shrine is a modern one, erected for the Millennium, and the candle of which so many of you wrote is actually a bell that must be rung with a thrown stone to ask permission to ascend the Tor. The face shaped mark in the stone bears no stranger legend that ‘Wells – 8 miles’.
Thank you so much to everyone who took part this week.
I have shared as many contributions as I could during the week; I schedule reblogs as posts come in, until I run out of space. All the posts are listed below, please click on the links below to read them and leave a comment for the author!
A new prompt will be published later today and I will reblog as many as I can through the week. All contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.
If you have written a post for this challenge and it does not appear in the round-up, please leave a link to your post in the comments and I will add it to the list.
Come and join in!

Counterfeit indeed! Great backstory (amazing what we all “saw”), and your poem tells the tale well. (K)

It fascinates me, the difference in our perceptions and interpretations…yet each one is magical 🙂

Someone had blown up the picture and realized it was a bell. Oh well, too late. And the candle fit the story so.. 😉
