Lilith

From her rest within a winter garden

She rose,

Walking lonely paths

Beneath withering boughs.

She wanders wild

And cold earth murmurs

Of Eden’s fruit.

A ghost in fevered hearts,

The perfume of eternity’s desire,

She remembers

God’s kiss

And the vast, devouring night

Before the ocean of universe

Embraced a young morning

And the sky breathed clouds.

An interesting subject, Sue. I have read contradictory stories about her. We loved living in a house in Sydney named after her. Bring on the feminine!
