Ancestral footsteps
Breaking open the future
Inviting my own
Present writing tomorrow
Melting into memory

The photo for this week’s prompt was taken close to my home, whilst walking the dog one morning, a few years ago now. The recent heatwave made me long for a chilly morning and I thought this would be the closest I would get… and then the weather changed and autumn arrived.
I loved the ice-path that ran along the furrows of the field, cracked as if feet other than mine had walked that way in the night.
I have to apologise to writephoto regulars who have seen this photo before… I was pretty certain I had already used it, but as I could not remember the prompt word that went with it… and as I have been running this prompt every week now for over three and a half years, I hope I can be forgiven for a mistaken repeat.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part this week and to everyone who reblogged the prompt, round up and the individual resposes! A new prompt will be published later today. As always, I will reblog as many contributions as space and time allows as they come in… and all of them will be featured in the round-up next Thursday.
All the posts are listed below, so please click on the links below to read them and leave a comment for the author!
Pingbacks do not always come through… if you have written a post for this challenge and it does not appear in the round-up, please leave a link to your post in the comments and I will add it to the list.
An invitation to writephoto writers…
As there are usually too many contributions to reblog all of them every week, and so that we can get to know their writers, I would like to invite all writephoto writers to come and introduce themselves on the blog as my guest! Click here for details.
Come and join in!

Sue, I think it’s good to revisit a photo every once in awhile, and compare then and now. So I don’t mind at all if you repeat one. (K)

I do try not to…but it has been interesting reading the new entries from people who wrote for it the first time round.

Oh yes, that is wonderful. And each different from the other, but all so thoughtful, and funny to read. Thank you for your efforts on collecting these masterpieces, Sue! Best wishes, Michael

It’s a great photo Sue (your original word was ‘Cracked’ if you didn’t find it)
Sometimes we see different things, but I still saw my hedgehogs. 😀
