Use the image below as inspiration to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever you choose, by noon (GMT) Wednesday 27th March and link back to this post with a pingback to be included in the round-up. There is no word limit and no style requirements, except to keep it fairly family friendly.
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a clearing in an autumnal wood, where what appears to be a large crack runs the rock floor.
All posts will be featured in the round-up on Thursday March 28th at 10am GMT, linking back to the original posts of contributors. Throughout the week I will feature as many of the responses here on the Daily Echo as space allows and (more or less) in the order in which they come in.
Please note that I will be away from the computer a fair bit over the next couple of days so responses and reblogs may be delayed.
You can find all last week’s entries in the weekly round-up. Please visit and read the stories and poems and explore the sites of their writers. I will feature as many contributions as I can on the blog during the week.
Please link your post to this by creating a pingback. If you are unsure of how to create a pingback, Hugh has an excellent tutorial here.
Pingbacks need to be manually approved, so either check back to make sure that the pingback has appeared or simply copy and paste your link into the comments section of this post.
Feel free to use #writephoto logo or include the prompt photo in your post if you wish or you can replace it with one of your own to illustrate your work. Don’t forget to use the #writephoto hashtag in your title so your posts can be found.
The invitation is still open to all writephoto regulars to come and introduce themselves on the blog as my guest!
Have fun!
The rock on the right also resembles an animal face.

Well, not literally, but awfully close! I live right at the edge of the mountains, and New England’s mountains once were part of the same chain as Old England’s mountains…

That would be why it all looks so familiar 🙂

Yep. A lot of your photos of mountains do, though our mountains are more heavily forested, so with the autumn woods in the background of this photo…

We don’t really have much in the way of mountains…they are mainly hills with attitude 😉

About what it is close to me. I think the mountains in Scotland and Wales are a little closer, though we have some that are bigger than that – Mt Washington, up in northern NH is over 6000 feet. But they are similar in age and make up.

Not even Ben Nevis, our highest, gets near that 🙂

Yeah, but most of NH is in that range 4000s – only the one small range is in the super giant size (small compared to the Alps or the Rockies). In my neck of the woods it is in the 2000s, with one 3000 that stands out over all of them, Mt. Monadnock.

Yeah, there are parts of England that remind me much more of the flatlands were I grew up than the more mountainous area were I now live.

Yeah, I am a mountain person, though lately I am being drawn more and more to my gentle water side on Cape Cod….

I can relate to that too. You don’t get all that far from the shore in Britain…but I’m about as far as you can get.
