Photo prompt round up – Sanctuary #writephoto

Sanctuary

*

Willing sacrifice
Standing open to the winds
Stripped of artifice
Naked before the altar
The soul finds sanctuary

*

The photo for this week’s prompt is the Temple of Ancient Virtue. It was taken in the gardens of Stowe House, near Buckingham… famed both for its gardens and its school. I have to say that we never did the place justice when we visited… our focus was the little church in the grounds… and we had already been sidetracked that day by the ‘Cathedral in the Fields’… an incredible place that we ended up visiting a number of times… and still had to go back to in search of the ‘miracle of the Virgin.’ I suppose, one of these days, I ought to go back with the camera…

Thank you so much to everyone who took part this week. Not part of the challenge, and entirely coincidentally, Darlene Foster sent me a guest post that was published this week entitled Peaceful Sanctuary at Novelda, that allowed us to visit a Gaudi-inspired church in Spain.

I have shared as many contributions as I could during the week; I schedule reblogs as posts come in, until I run out of space. All the posts are listed below, please click on the links below to read them and leave a comment for the author!

A new prompt will be published later today and all contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.

Pinbacks have been uncertain this week… if you have written a post for this challenge and it does not appear in the round-up, please leave a link to your post in the comments and I will add it to the list.

Come and join in!

Many thanks to this weeks contributors:

One thing you didn’t say in your write up – I wasn’t the only one who read the prompt as winter, a lot of us did (I guess we looked outside of our windows), but when I wrote my “part 2”, I realized that it wasn’t winter at all in the photo! It was just the way you “developed” it that put a lot of white in. Anyway, a lot of good entries, as usual.
