Photo prompt round up – Crow #writephoto

Crow

*

Dark winged messenger
Silhouetted at daybreak
Seldom overlooked
Superstition notices
Portents anticipated

*

Battle-weary birds
Returning old death to life
Much mistunderstood
Offering a final gift
Complete for us the cycle

*

Thought and memory
Mingled and confused recall
Old fears and folk tales
Still branded with prejudice
Watching mankind with sorrow

*

The photo for this week’s prompt was taken on my back doorstep, one wintery dawn. The crow was silhouetted against a shell-pink sky…an irresistable shot, but although pretty, it lacked something…hence the black and white version.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part this week.

As always, I have shared as many contributions as I could during the week, but the sheer volume of entries we are getting now makes it impossible to reblog all of them!  I schedule reblogs as posts come in, until I run out of space. All the posts are listed below, please click on the links below to read them and leave a comment for the author!

A new prompt will be published later today and I will reblog as many as I can through the week. All contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.

If you have written a post for this challenge and it does not appear in the round-up, please leave a link to your post in the comments and I will add it to the list.

Come and join in!

About Sue Vincent

Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue  passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.

  3. Wonderful poem about these misunderstood birds, Sue. And “wow” to the response! That’s awesome. 🙂
