Blues

Hearts seeking solace
See the heavens reflected
Earthly emotion
Painted cerulean tides
Touching horizons of tears
*
Silent solitude
The colour of compassion
Brings peace to the soul
Waves whisper on the seashore
Wider horizons open
*
Light and darkness play
Dancing on the turning tide
Between night and day
Possibility ripples
In serene celebration

The photo for this week’s prompt was taken in Scotland a few years ago, looking across the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh. We had broken our journey, between seeing the incredible Ruthwell Cross and visiting St Andrews, to stay with a with a friend and visit the Abbey in Dunfermline. We also took the opportunity to visit a ruined kirk in the early morning light. I have no idea what the camera thought it was doing when it took this picture…it usually does only what I ask it to do, but it seemed to want to get creative and gave me this…for which I am truly grateful, as it captured the mood of the morning.
Thank you so much to everyone who took part this week…especially during the holidays! As always, I have shared as many contributions as I could during the week, but all the posts are listed below, please click on the links below to read them and leave a comment for the author! A new prompt will be published later today and I will reblog as many as I can through the week. All contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.
If you have written a post for this challenge and it does not appear in the round-up, please leave a link to your post in the comments and I will add it to the list.
Come and join in!
