Drawn
Downwards
Spiralling
Unresisting
Captured by demons
Descend into despair
No pinprick of light appears
To soothe and heal the weary soul
Offering itself as nourishment
To an endless cycle of pain and fear

But deep within the belly of the beast
When life and laughter seem forgotten
A whisper of dawn breaks silence
Casts its glow on the shadows
Revealing them as ghosts
Phantoms to banish
With the morning
Restoring
Healing
Light

Wow, Sue. You captured a nightmare with vivid wording! I like how the second Etheree flowed to bring in the healing light of dawn. Excellent! ❤
