Winter Trees – James Elkington

Walking for many miles across the barren moors with a friend, we came across these winter trees. A good place to stop for a rest amongst the fallen stones, and have a breather.

I remember 45 years ago, coming here as a young lad on my own in the height of summer, parched and dusty. There was a farmhouse where the stones now are, and an old lady offered me cool glass of orange juice to drink.
