The Daily Echo has been very quiet for the past week as we visited the south-west of England, first for a Silent Eye event, then a wander with our American friends, followed by a few days holiday. I had been unwell for a while prior to the event and at one point I thought I would be unable to attend, so, for once, I unplugged completely and had a proper break. Not that I would have had much choice, as in many of the places we found ourselves there was neither wifi nor mobile signal.
I am not sure that you could call it a rest exactly, as we travelled over a thousand miles, mainly on the small, twisting roads that we love and which lead to magical and mysterious places… but there is a huge difference between feeling utterly exhausted and being pleasantly tired.
The camera had been working overtime and there is much to show and to tell. Normal service is about to be resumed… so please bear with me as I catch up with comments and posts!
Welcome back! Hope you’re feeling much better ❤️

I hope you’re feeling better now. I’m also just exhausted. I keep trying to keep up, but I’m really just falling behinder and behinder. And Garry’s going in for surgery in a couple of weeks, so I think I”m going to have to unplug, at least some of the time because we have a really intense bunch of months coming up.

Much better thanks, Marilyn. You don’t need to be fretting about the blog when you have Garry to worry about either!

The only thing that was switched on was the camera ( the hairdryer was a totallly pointless exercise 😉 )

I did notice your absence, and am relieved to hear it was a good break (as opposed to a bad one). One’s mind can tend to wander to worry. 😉

Which bit of the South West did you visit?
LikeLike
As much of Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset as we could fit into what little time we had 🙂 Nowhere near enough! Our main focus for the workshop was the Dorchester area… and after that, the Land’s End penninsula.

You didn’t venture in to North Devon then?

Sadly not… it’s a beautiful part of the country it I loved visiting when I was younger.
