My son, touched by the plight of a shivering black and white cat who sought shelter in his home last winter, invested in a cat door and an automatic feeder. The local cats, feral and well fed alike, touched by his thoughtfulness, adopted him. At the last count, five part-timers had time shares on his attention…with this one successfully supervising from his lap.
Press a button or two to share... go on, make my day :)

At one time I had seven cats, three generations. And other times up to four. Another one from Heinlein (He knew cats.):
“How we behave toward cats here below determines our status in heaven.”
I think your son’s status is safe.

It doesn’t leave much hope for Ani though 😉

She might have to adopt the policy that my Dad’s dog did when I moved in with a cat. The two animals agreed to pretend not to see each other. It worked out quite well. And, I think that what Mr. Heinlein said about Heaven and cats applies to dog too.

Thankfully the cats live with my son. We have one who lives upstairs… and while it was a noisy war for a day or two last year when the cat moved in, Ani pretends it isn’t there and the cat just observes form a distance 😉

We can relate… our cat flap is like a revolving door sometimes, and the best part of it is, they all have homes!

We rather fancy that at lest half of Nick’s cat pack have homes too.

Your son is a peach to do that! What a warm heart he has! We had five cats at one point – and three dogs who got on with them just fine. Two were feral, and then not feral, moving right in. I love reading things like this!
