Cold grey days slide one into another
Neither dark nor light to distinguish
Monotone mediocrity
Great Nature offers solace
To threadbare emotions
Wearied by clichés
Expectations
A duty-bound
Presence
Palls
Peace
Imbibed
With each breath
A renewal
Wide green horizons
Balm for weary eyes
Too long fixed on a screen
Mirroring and distorting
Quotidian exigencies
Step outside the confines of the box
Beyond the threshold, the heart finds its home

Double etheree for Colleen’s poetry challenge

About Sue Vincent
Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.
The last two lines sums up the whole feeling.

I’m glad we are entering into Spring and leave the grey days behind!

A little less rain and a touch more sun would be nice 😉

I’m experiencing the gray days of spring, here in Arizona. While the desert welcomes and needs the moisture, I’m luxuriating in the dullness of the sky. These gray days are few and far between which makes me love them all the more. Your verse speaks to me of spring’s rebirth waiting in the wings to refresh us all. So lovely, Sue. ❤

I hope it comes soon. I remember those English gray days and how they blended into monotone colors. ❤

I like your poem, for what it’s meant as…! -But can’t you try less lines for each sentence..?

Not for a this particular challenge response, no. It is an exercise in sticking within the constricted and predetermined syllabic form of the double etheree.
