She has taken her squished fingers away from the computer for a day or two to allow them a little healing time. The fact that she is running north, she says, is neither here nor there… Well, as you read this I will be neither here nor there. I’ll be with my friends, Gooch and Hardy and getting some serious playtime in.
Quite why we can’t have another dog around for me to play with all the time, I don’t know. It would keep me occupied and out of trouble… well, I could blame the other one then, you see… But she says we can’t. Not allowed here in the flat. Not even though we’ve got a garden and all those fields to play in. I think it is a bit mean myself… but she says we can’t even have a kitten.
She did consider a bird…but she fancies those silky chickens and we’re not allowed those either. Or a goat. She says I’ll have to settle for the wild birds and the fish.
I like birds…they’re nice to watch when she’s not looking. I can sit and watch them for hours. ‘Course, when she is looking, I have to do my job and chase them… She keeps telling me I really don’t have to, but I am a bird dog after all. And anyway, they are good fun to chase.
I watch the fish too, but you can’t really play with a fish. Though she says you can…
I’m not sure I approve of sharing my balls with the fish though… even though they share their food with me. I thought it smelled nice…but the flaky stuff went everywhere when I stuck my nose in the tub and sneezed. The pellets are good though…three for them, one for me. Do they know they are eating fish? Makes me wonder about them, you know…
I’ve taken to hiding when she feeds them though. The lid went bang and scared us all one day…so now, when she feeds the fish, I take cover behind her chair…still keep an eye out to remind her to share the food though. It is all about inter-species relations, you know. She says that if you share food with someone, it creates a special bond…and you sort of have to let them ito your heart.
Which is odd really, ’cause when I try and share her food, she tends to get a bit snippy. Except when she knows about it first and lets me…
Anyway, I have to pack… treats and stuff.
But don’t worry,
I’ll be back… wouldn’t want the fish getting any ideas about taking over the blog…
Much love,
Ani xx
Have fun Ani!

Have a great little vacation, Ani, and don’t worry about the fish taking over the blog. They are really poor at typing and the keyboard would not be happy in their home.

That’s a good point. Keyboards don’t like wet stuff… especially her coffee 😉

Mom said I could read this ONE last post before she drags us both to bed! Have a wonderful time, Ani – and come back with tales of your adventures. And NOW, to sleep – perchance to dream of going with you. Things have been really boring here since the snow came again and Mom keeps me in the house mostly.

Tink likes to play in freshly fallen snow and seems to bear up happily as long as he is not cold and *wet* — but once the top snow gets “crunchy” his short legs can’t navigate it and he whines and shivers, essentially stuck. Not so good then. 🙂

Some of these fish are ay too big for a small dog…and she’d not be best pleased either 😉

Hi Ani, Dante here. We got a fish too who gets fed when I get my breakfast. They talk to the fish but it doesn’t say anything back. We got two guinea pigs. I feel protective of these furry friends and go in to say good morning and good night to them. If I get her to look for one she might post a pic or two to show you. They are called Papa Shadow and Sonic. Enjoy the playing with your friends, much paw love, Dante Dawg. xxx

Laughter lines finally arrived and we started it last night. I find it amazing that Mike likes poetry so much although these poems are light-hearted and lots of fun.

Don’t worry Ani. Fish aren’t NEARLY as smart as you. They could never take over a blog, not yours, not anyone’s. So you can just enjoy them. I don’t know about the balls, though. Never met a fish that plays with balls. Or anything, really.
