Sometimes I Sits and Thinks

I suppose I should apologise for wandering in like this. After years of trying to pass myself of a fantasy author, it occurred to me that I really ought to do something with all the tales and characters that crawl out of my day job.

Over the last few years I’ve kept a blog. Initially it was supposed to sell my books. But a writer rapidly learns that the number of people who want to read a blog about how wonderful your books are is strictly limited. So I started writing about other stuff that happens as well.

Anyway, because of my real life, that of being a small farmer in South Cumbria, a lot of the stuff that crept into the blog involved Border Collies, sheep, cattle and even lesbians in fast cars.

Anyway I combed through the blog and pulled out the stuff that might be stuffed casually into the pigeonhole marked ‘farming’. Better minds than mine checked the spelling, and I made it into an ebook, with a picture of Jess on the front cover. As perhaps the quintessential Border Collie I felt she deserved it.

So I’d merely say that if you fancy a few true stories, anecdotes about real people, and an insight into rain, sheep and of course, Border Collies, then dash out and buy it now.

He has managed to make a living from a mixture of agriculture, consultancy, and freelance writing.
