
There is always that one awkward person,
You just cannot decide what to proffer
When Christmas comes round
Gifts seem thin on the ground
But a book is a good thing to offer.
You can go for adventure or romance
Or a story of brimstone and gore,
There’s horror or mystery
Chick-lit and history
Fantasy, sci-fi and more.
It might not be their volume of preference
And might end on a charity shelf…
But if they don’t read it
Or find they don’t need it
You could always read it yourself.
