Fantasy ~ Joelle LeGendre #writephoto

Once, I dreamed of living
in castle with servants
dressing in fine silks each day
while my prince smiled sweetly.
Once, I dreamed of being
compellingly beautiful,
kings at my feet begging for
an eternity with me.
Reality’s colors
pour over our fantasies
when we feel the cold, dark, walls
closing in around us.
Ghosts sit on the window
watching peasant children play
in forests they cannot touch,
imprisoned in their dreams.
