A kite leashed to earth

Dreaming a freedom attained

Lone eagle soaring

*

A shrill alarm and another early start drag me from my bed. I answer duty’s call.

The road shimmers… The air is heavy in the vale. Summer’s heat saps energy. Each breath of humid air seems laboured. Life moves but slowly while time runs away.

*

Keening to the clouds

Red feathers greet the sunrise

Beauty unfettered

*

Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue  passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.

    Beautiful haiku, and picture, and as for the prose, I most certainly couldn’t have put it better myself. 🙂 And kites are my favourite birds. I used to travel to Wales to see them many years ago before they were so abundant here. Graceful and stunning creatures; beauty unfettered indeed. 🙂
