A kite leashed to earth
Dreaming a freedom attained
Lone eagle soaring
*
A shrill alarm and another early start drag me from my bed. I answer duty’s call.
The road shimmers… The air is heavy in the vale. Summer’s heat saps energy. Each breath of humid air seems laboured. Life moves but slowly while time runs away.
*
Keening to the clouds
Red feathers greet the sunrise
Beauty unfettered

I felt the humidity in the air! Excellent imagery, Sue. I flew with the red hawk! β€

Beautiful haiku, and picture, and as for the prose, I most certainly couldn’t have put it better myself. π And kites are my favourite birds. I used to travel to Wales to see them many years ago before they were so abundant here. Graceful and stunning creatures; beauty unfettered indeed. π
