Samhain

untitled

Old Ones linger,

Prisoners in eternity’s embrace

Remembering the breath of life.

They come

For healing or desire.

Wild ghosts wake

Naked in the hearts of men.

A fever born of smoke

Haunts a night

Of magic.

  10. Samhain falls just about at the same time as Sukkot. It’s wonderful how newer religions built their holidays on the Old Holidays. I bet it made it easier to “transition” to a new “faith” if you knew when the holidays would show up.
