Called
To roads
Leading home,
Turning my face
To new beginnings,
Past and present meeting,
Ancestral stories teaching
Age-old wisdom unveiling truth
Illuminating what lies beyond.
The human story turns in space and time.
The world moves on, a constant state of flux,
Proud of ourselves, we call it progess.
Caught by the glitter of fool’s gold,
Seduced by acquisition,
As fashions come and go,
Losing sight of Self.
The soul remains
Unchanging,
Seeking,

This is beautiful Sue, it says it all. The human race blunders forward blind and death to the lessons of the past.💜

Sadly, too many human beings are attracted by negatives and bad habits, seemingly more than good (?) How many times have we heard the words “We must learn from the past…” Do we, heck! Politicians in particular are guilty and they’re the ones at the forefront of all wars and divisions. We must each remember to remember…Onwards and upwards. Have a safe journey, Sue.

A masterpiece of poetry, Sue. How you craft the words to fit such a wonderfully symmetrical shape I’ll never know. I love ‘The human story turns in space and time’ and ‘Caught by the glitter of fools gold’. So true. Goodness, it’s given me goosebumps. Great stuff. 🙂

  7. Mesmerizing, Sue. I’m so glad you added your own beyond the round-up. You captured the ancient, yet timeless, magic.

Exquisite, Sue–and accurate: “glitter of fools gold”.
