Celeste closed the office door firmly behind her and headed surreptitiously back down the tunnel to the door to the river bank. As she stepped out into the fresh night air she had a renewed sense of satisfaction even greater then when she’d helped Arnold. There was nothing wrong with making prisoners work for their upkeep, but local officials pocketing the profits was blatantly wrong! The profits needed to be applied to needed renovations and repairs to the jail system as well as programs to prevent crime. She was certain all the information she’d gathered would provoke huge changes and a media explosion in this county seat.
