Summer’s fruits ripen
What autumn mists must wither
Crimson wears mourning
Veils itself in frozen tears
Caught in the grip of winter
Rosebuds brave the snow
Winter death holds summer’s birth
Silent gestation
Working unseen alchemy
Transmutation of the sun

Wonder darling!
Is that like “sand to gold”
kisses within a dreaming wish…

Spring seems to be arriving here, very quietly 🙂

We haven’t had much snow or cold in the Colorado mountains this winter. There are buds on the trees. High winds and warm temperatures = fire weather. 😦

Thankfully there are few places here subject to fires.

We are high-desert prairie here. Wide open spaces butting up against Pikes Peak and the mountains. Tons of room for fires in the dry brush. People throw their lit cigarettes out the car and with the high winds, a fire explodes in no time.

There are only the heather covered here at that level of risk…and it rains so much that then it is generally only in summer.
