This week’s photo was taken one cold, frosty dawn, looking west from the top of Higger Tor in Derbyshire. The iridescence is caused when light is scattered by water droplets in the clouds and produces an eerie, otherworldly effect.
Iris
In the darkest hour
A golden-winged messenger
Walks heaven’s highway

Poised between two worlds
Bearing a vessel of dreams
A gift of the gods

Dreamers awaken
Sleepers choose oblivion
Blind to her beauty
