Darkness

Cries wake the sleeper

Dark dreams like carrion flies

Serving their purpose

Impinging on consciousness

Picking the bones from the night

*

Hidden fears unveiled

Dawn laughs at their illusions

Become transparent

Ephemeral monsters flee

In the clear light of morning
