Constructive thinking?

Brookstone Builders, Inc. Friday Funny/Construction high ...

My son’s wetroom is currently spread between the lounge, the bedroom and the car park… not much of it is actually in the bathroom. The spare bedroom that became the gym is covered in wet paint and dustsheets… because somebody, who shall remain nameless, decided that now would be a perfect time to strip it out and turn it into a bedroom again.

Everything that was in there is now spread throughout the house, mixed in with bathroom fittings and bits of arcane pipework. The entire place… and my car too… is covered in a thick pall of stone dust from the travertine tiles that are being cut to shape. And he wants to tile the kitchen next…

Everywhere you walk, you fall over electricians, tilers and plumbers and I keep running out of mugs for their tea…

I can neither locate nor access half the stuff I need to run his home… but that’s okay as my next job is to clear the shed to make room for the spare freezer that I’ll have to carry out there… that is after the new bedroom furniture arrives for me to lug in and assemble today.

And some people (who will continue to remain nameless…) think I have an easy job…

  4. Your “some people” and my Mr Ill-Advised have rather a lot in common. Can’t one of the workmen help you move the freezer. You will hurt yourself if you do that.

It takes two men and a boy to lug a freezer. Don´t try it on your own even if you are Superwoman!!

  15. You get the “mom of the year” medal today, Sue. You’re going to carry the freezer??? Before of after you assemble the bedroom furniture? Take good care of your back, my friend. A long soak before bed, I hope.

‘Some people’ might want to consider the consequences of ticking-off the person who is doing what ‘some people’ are requesting! : ) … will it all be over soon-ish?

  19. Oh, my goodness! I can only imagine the chaos! Fingers crossed that this clears up soon. I bet it will all be stunning when it’s finished. It seems like it always something with houses. We bought this house new last year, already built. The shower pan in the master bath is so slippery we can barely use it. Finally, we found a company that will coat the shower pan with a textured fiberglass they paint on. The smell is so bad that we will have to vacate our bedroom for 3 days! I can sympathize with you, for sure Sue. I’m with you: “I put my faith in magic!” LOL! ❤

Debby is right. I’m like you with a ‘can do’ attitude… but all it takes is one wrong pull or step. Last weekend I was standing on the roof of my Jeep to reach the tall benches that needed to to be cut. Not wise. Get extra hands if you can.

  22. Oh dear! Hope it is all sorted out for you soon. My ‘some people’ spilt milk all over my fridge this morning, drank too much… and were probably sick too. I’ll see when the culprit/s surface from bed. Fairly minor compared to your inconvenience though!
