Eyes
Hiding
Strange faces
Ever watchful
Look out from shadows
Distrusting all they see
Fearing the caress of dawn
That awakens them from slumber
Far safer to embrace illusion
Than to be revealed by the light of truth
Remaining but pale shadows of themselves
Blind to any beauty they might bear
They wear the scars of choices made
As armour and uniform
Safe in conformity
Shaping misconceptions
Building prison bars
Without release
Feeling small
Within
Fear

A sad, choice to make, often made by many though. Lovely double Etheree Sue 💜💜💜

Sadly, it is often the result of choices made by others that build the prison walls. xx

Yes I can agree with that and those walls are invisible 💜
