Neither Mother or Father were impressed.
They saw it as a flagrant display of disrespect and vanity.
‘Just because you can doesn’t mean you have to!’ Mother admonished her offspring.
‘We are leaders, not exhibitionists,’ Father added. ‘It is our duty as Guiding Lights to be uniform in tone and contrast. It confuses people otherwise. They don’t know how to react.’
‘But I’m so pretty!’ the child whined. ‘Why can’t I show my full potential?’
