They say you can never go back, but there are some times in your life when you must, whether you want to or not.
It had taken almost twenty years, but Izzy had finally garnered the courage to face her demons.
Her mother had died years before, her father more recently, though her siblings had exiled her from the family more than thirty years ago.
This room was one of several in her childhood home.
She remembered the laughter echoing off the walls, the music playing constantly, and the steady rhythm of dance steps as they practiced for hours on end. In fact, she still couldn’t hear one particular song without her skin tingling and body hair standing on end, so vivid were the memories here.
Closing her eyes, she tried in vain to banish them from her mind, but still they lingered.
