Welcome to this week’s writephoto prompt. This week’s photo is of an iconic site…one of the most photographed in its country…but don’t let that stop you being inventive! And, if you know where it was taken, please keep it to yourself to let imaginations play. 🙂
Use the image below as inspiration to create a post on your own blog… poetry, prose, humour… light or dark, whatever you choose, by noon (GMT) Wednesday 17th July and link back to this post with a pingback to be included in the round-up. There is no word limit and no style requirements, except to keep it fairly family friendly.
**Please note that many people on WordPress are having problems with pingbacks not getting through, so please also leave a comment on this post, linking back to your response to the prompt so that I know you have posted. **
For visually challenged writers, the image shows a silhouetted castle in the half-light, set in a lake surrounded by hills.
All posts will be featured in the round-up on Thursday July 18th at 10am GMT, linking back to the original posts of contributors. Throughout the week I will feature as many of the responses here on the Daily Echo as space allows and (more or less) in the order in which they come in. Please be aware that I tend to schedule reblogs in advance and these spaces fill quickly so an early submission is more likely to get reblogged.
You can find all last week’s entries in the weekly round-up, which, as a final disruption to normal service, will be published later today.
Please link your post to this by creating a pingback. If you are unsure of how to create a pingback, Hugh has an excellent tutorial here.
Pingbacks need to be manually approved, and many people are having problems with them not getting through at all, so either check back to make sure that the pingback has appeared or simply copy and paste your link into the comments section of this post.
Feel free to use #writephoto logo or include the prompt photo in your post if you wish or you can replace it with one of your own to illustrate your work. Don’t forget to use the #writephoto hashtag in your title so your posts can be found.

An invitation
As there are usually too many contributions to reblog all of them every week, and so that we can get to know their writers, I would like to invite all writephoto regulars to come and introduce themselves on the blog as my guest! ‘Regulars’ does not mean you have to take part every week… Click here for details

Hello Sue ping backs have to a be approved as they are moderated like comments. I discovered this by accident myself.

I know…but sometimes people don’t read that in the prompt post and worry their pingback is not getting through.

Here’s mine Sue. I got a little carried away. I have Scottish Ancestry. My Grandfather was a Scot and he did often say ““It’s A Braw Bricht Moonlit Nicht The Nicht.”
