It has been ages since the ball guy came to visit! What with one thing and another, he hasn’t been able to come and see me since before the leaves started on the trees… and I couldn’t wait to take him out for a walk and show him all the green that has sprung up!
But, would they stop talking? Hrmph! I’m surprised they could talk at all after the first evening… but they just carried on next morning. In fact, I wouldn’t have been surprised if they’d been talking in their sleep! Honest, I could barely get them to throw the ball! Though, they were talking so much I did manage to get her into my treat cupboard a few ‘too many’ times before she realised how many I’d had…
Anyway, they were going to take me out exploring again… but it was raining, then the phone went… and they went off without me. So, next moring, rain or no, I decided I would take them for a proper walk… none of these quick, crepuscular dashes she’s been giving me either side of sunny days…
They took the long leash and wouldn’t let me off at first, ’cause the cows are out and about and I think she is worried they would frighten me. Yeah, right… I’d like to see them try! Sheep are another matter. They stamp at me. But I managed to pretend they weren’t there as we passed and they just stayed under the hedge for once.
There were squirrels too, and a cock-pheasant that was being weird… glued to its own reflection in the horse-yard mirrors. She said it looked as if it had enough problems without me saying hello. I have to say, it didn’t even move as I went past… and that’s not normal for pheasants. They know better… I am a bird-dog after all! So maybe she was right…
Anyway, they finally let me loose when they’d checked for cows. She was trailing behind with the camera-thingy. She doesn’t normally get to use it much when I take her out walking on her own… I’m not sure why. She says I make it difficult for her to get a steady shot. What I say is that if she let me off the leash sooner, she could snap away to her heart’s content!
But it was good to get out into the green and play. The running may have slowed a bit… I’m not a pup any more, and it has nothing to do with my waistline… I do not have too many treats, whatever certain people might say! That’s simply not possible…
Maybe they just got it wrong and what the two-legses really said was that I am a fit dog ; vowels can be confusing sometimes…
And, after all, there is still of a lot of winter coat to shed… and if she calls me that again, even by accident, I’ll shed it all over her bed!
Much love,
Ani xxx

Too many treats? That’s not even possible! You can never have too many. Silly humans!
Mine don’t let me off the leash. I get to go on a longer leash, but they won’t let me off completely. Something about not trusting me with how easily I get distracted, and how close the roads are. I don’t think it’s fair myself, but they won’t listen.
Lots of licks,
Lilie

No cows here. Foxes though. Plenty of birds too, especially the big ones the humans call seagulls. Lots of licks, Lilie

Well Ani, I certainly understand why you want to get out in all that green. It is beautiful. Enjoy those walks! On another note, can you let your two-legse know I’m having trouble “liking” and posting comments on her blog. Can’t comment from my iPhone and can’t “like” from my phone or computer. Wondering if the problem is coming from her end or mine. I am known to have bad technology karma so anything’s possible.

She says she is having the same problems all over… and it seems to be solved by a refresh when it doesn’t work… She also said something rude about WP gremlins, whatever they are… 😉

I’m so glad you got your walk Ani. My human parents went away and left me at a pet hotel, with a pool, sofas and even TVs and other doggies to play with. It’s all very fine, but I wish they would hurry home. I miss snuggles in bed and my nice walks.

So nice to hear from you, Ani! And your walk looks like so much fun! I’m sure they meant fit instead of that other word. You’ve got the physique of a young girl! Garfield is also shedding like mad – I brush him every day but have so much hair I could make a blanket out of it.

She keeps saying she has given up on the hair…says it will save on carpets 😉 But then she lets the Hoover monster out of the cupboard to chase me anyway 😦

I don’t blame you – I’d rather walk than run any day. Infinitely nicer – and better for you. That’s why I’m walking round North Wales, not running! 🙂

My two-legs doesn’t run. Says it is no longer practical 😉

She’s right not to. And it doesn’t serve any practical purpose anyway. Does she know that to walk a given distance burns the same number of calories as it does to run it? The only difference is it takes a bit longer to walk it. That suits me… You stick to walking Ani, and your two-legs. 🙂

We have a little ball-crazy blue heeler. Every single night, we take him to a nearby estate with vast macadamia nut orchards and launch the ball, time and again, until he’s sufficiently worn out. So fun 😉

Well Ani how dare they comment on your weight, we are all perfect and as you say there is no way we can have too many treats, it just not possible.
I have suffered insults over the weekend too. The MIL (male two legs mum) she is 693yrs old she keeps saying, I look sad, I look old and I look thin?
Well I not having any of that. Anyway, pot kettle black she is 99 human years old! Chin up Ani they live you loads 💜💜💜

Mine just says I’d probably get to be older if I was thinner. Person’lly, I think she would be thinner if she walked me more and fed me more of her food… 😉 xx

My says the same and keeps me thin! I think they both have no clue . All we can do is to keep trying to retrain them.💜

I can’t get Dale to take me on longer than ’round the block or ’round the BIG block walks ever since she started working at the golf club again. She tells me some hogwash story that at work she does on average 18-20K steps and by the time she gets home, a walk is just too much…
I hear her say tomorrow she only starts at 4 pm, so I’m hoping we’ll get a decent one in…
Lotsa love,
