Come-uppance #midnighthaiku

Ego illusion

Self-confident aggression

Really just small fry

A newly introduced, and rather bumptious tiger loach, felt itself to be king of the aquarium at feeding time, having seen off ‘the competition’… fish smaller than itself. Then, it came face to face, for the first time, with a bristlenose plecostamus.

It seemed a little surprised… and did not linger to investigate the ‘monster’.

Ironically, the pleco is the most timid fish in the tank.

Love this, Sue. I would never have thought that even small fish in an aquarium would be concerned about such things as establishing a pecking order! You learn something new every day…

Oh, and a P.S. this time: I’m going away for a few days today – to Yorkshire! So please don’t think I’m ignoring you, it’s just that I’m away and I won’t get a chance to do any blogging until I get back. In the meantime, I’ll give your love to the moors, the coast and the castles. 🙂
