Photo prompt round-up: Caught #writephoto

Sinuous dancer
Raising her arms to heaven
Calling down the sun
The dance of light is calling
Embracing eternity

*

The photo for this week’s prompt was taken as we wandered through a Yorkshire wood in search of a dragon. Although it was a beautiful day, the wood was strangely silent and the song of birds was absent, even beneath the beech trees.

The dragon in question is a local legend, immortalised in a  humorous 17thC poem, and the story tells how a knight, Moore of Moore Hall, brought about its downfall using a spiked suit of armour. We failed to track down the dragon on this occasion, but one of these days we will find its lair.

In the meantime, a rather sad pine plantation provided us with a little shade and a glimpse of beauty.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part this week. I reblogged as many as space allowed and all the posts are listed below, so please click on the links to read them and leave a comment for the author! Thank you too, to everyone who reblogged the prompt, round-up and the individual responses!

A new prompt will be published later today. I will reblog as many contributions as space and time allows, as they come in… and all of them will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.

Pingbacks do not always come through… if you have written a post for this challenge and it does not appear in the round-up, please leave a link to your post in the comments and I will add it to the list.

Come and join in!
