Splash – pensitivity #writephoto

I wondered what Sue’s photoprompt was going to be this week and if I could follow on from the previous 2.
I left last week’s on a cliff hanger:
‘We’ve been waiting for you………………’
so the question is where to go next.

Jake broke out in a cold sweat as if the bottom had fallen out of his world and hoped his loosened bowels wouldn’t make a splash on the expensive carpet.
Who were these people? Where did they come from?
And why was Angela grinning like a Cheshire Cat in the background?

‘I’m sorry,’ the tallest Suit said extending his hand. ‘I’m ……..’
Angela butted in before he could continue.
‘This is Charles Thorpe, and this is his house.’ She giggled. ‘We’re sort of trespassing.’
Jake thought of the three bottles of wine he had consumed and choked on the possible cost that would have to be reimbursed. He’d already maxed out his Diners card to pay for this trip, and was fast running up additional bills that he may not be able to cover at the end of the month. Angela was something he couldn’t put on expenses.
