The photo for this week’s prompt was taken at Rollright. The holed stone is part of the stone circle and looking through it, from inside the circle, you are directly aligned with the Whispering Knights, a dolmen that sits some distance away from the stones. From tha house of the dead, were vision clear enough, you would see into the circle of life. Seated within that circle one day, I had a strange and wonderful experience; it is a magical and beautiful place.
There were some wonderful poems and stories this week and I would like to thank everyone who took part. Please click on the links below to visit all the posts and leave a comment for the author! A new prompt will be published later today and I will reblog as many as I can through the week as they come in and all contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.
Come and join in!

From life we see death
Looming on the horizon
Inevitable
Inner sight sees only life
Circle of eternity

I’m ready to read! Is the second image looking in the other direction through the hole? I love the way the two images are tied together in your poem. Beautiful.

Yes, it is, Diana. From inside and outside the holed stone that is part of the circle.

Now you’ve said the photo is of the Roll Right Stones, everything clicks into place and I understand why I’ve been humming a track from the old Traffic album ‘Shoot Out at the Fantasy Factory’! Here’s a link to the track on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGBNg5H1CwE

I’d almost forgotten about Traffic! Thanks for the reminder, Kim… I may have to treat myself 🙂
