The Avalon Room
Thursday, 6 February 2014, 19:00 – 21:00

The common ground between the Qabalistic Tree of Life, the Spiritual Enneagram & the hidden meanings of esoteric Christianity.

It is often said that there is only one Truth, but that it can be viewed in a thousand ways, as though through the sides of a lantern or a manifold set of lenses. For the aspiring seeker, or even better, for those determined to turn seeking into finding, the common threads available to our inner understanding provide confirmation that they are on a right path. Adepts tell us that, in truth, the different paths lead to the same place but that it is right that we choose one we are attracted to, as this will sustain our work.

A growing number of people are assembling their own paths, selecting those elements they consider fit well together for them. For these people, it can be invaluable to see the correspondences between the key symbolic elements of different traditions.

This talk is aimed at helping such people; and will also form an excellent introduction to each of the sacred systems uncovered. Three main traditions are included: the use of the Tree of Life in Qabala (Kabbalah, Cabala); the spiritual use of the Enneagram; and the inner meanings of some of the key sentiments in Esoteric Christianity.

Essential consideration will be given to the idea of dimension and the point in space as a coming-into-Being; the secondary formation of the Triangle, the concepts of Polarity, and the importance of completed cycles, such as the octave. The intellectual and emotional dimensions of both will be encountered.

No former knowledge of these subjects is assumed, but the talk will also go as deep as the time allows. Two meditations will be included in the two-hour period, and there will be a short break after the first hour.

This is the first of several free-standing subjects presented by the Silent Eye School during 2014. They are collected under the linked heading of “The Song of the Silence – threads of the Divine accessible from ordinary living” and hosted by the Glastonbury Pilgrim Reception Centre.
