They watched hopelessly as the smoke crept closer and rising on the horizon.

“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” Sam whispered

“How long before the fire reaches our cabin?”

“I don’t know. A few hours maybe less. Depends on the wind.”

“The fumes are already hurting the livestock. What should we do?”

“I told you! I don’t know damn it!”
