I asked the writephoto challenge cntributors if they would like to come over and introduce themselves. Without those of you who write and read the pieces inspired by the weekly photos, the writephoto prompt would not exist.
So, if you follow or take part in the weekly challenge, why come over and introduce yourself too? Being a regular does not mean taking part every week… so why not drop me a line?
Today we meet Kevin Parish of What Words May Come.
Thank you for the invitation to be a part of your blog in a different way!
While I contribute to the WritePhoto prompt I don’t do so on a regular basis. When my inspiration hits me I write. If the photo prompt triggers me… I write. Ha…
So, with that being said, here is a little about me.
I work full-time for a biotech company in Indiana. I have been with the company, in different capacities, for 23 years. I moved to Indiana in 2006. I am from a small town in south Alabama. I lived there or near there until I moved up here. I miss the Gulf of Mexico as I love to fish saltwater. My hobbies include writing, acrylic art, vegetable gardening, fishing, hunting, golf, darts, and good wine. I am one of five children – 4 – boys and a girl. I’m the youngest of the four boys and our sister is 10 years younger than me. My mom is still living and healthy at 85 and my dad passed in 2001. I am 56 years old and married to a precious woman who I’ve known since we were 2 and 3 years old. (We celebrate 5 years in September 2019).
My blog on WP is What Words May Come. I was encouraged to start this blog as a result of a dear friend’s insistence on publishing and sharing my writing. Those who are familiar with my writing know it consists mostly of poetry. Many of my poems are faith-based because those seem to flow easily for me for some reason. With that being said, I also write some crazy, dark poetry and short stories.
Later this month, August 2019, I will have my first book published and available on Amazon. My wife and I are so excited! This first of many, I hope, is, naturally, Poetry of Faith. There are 40 poems as well as some scattered artwork I have produced.
I still need to work another eight years or so, but I am honestly ready to retire now and write and do art, as well as fish. I love my life and I love my wife and I love my two children and my beautiful granddaughter. She’s 4! 🙂
I have to run now! I hope you enjoy my blog and rambling.
SILHOUETTED SOUL
by Kevin Parish
*
The convolutions
Of the silhouetted soul
Halted me in my tracks
******************
As my eyes traced the edges
Of one no longer whole
Cut short as if by axe
******************
Where is the merriment
Of days gone by
Where was the love at the end
******************
This parallax before me
Did I behold
A tragedy in the wind

Beautiful, beautiful, and so heartfelt – the anguish almost hurts. To intensely feel what the poet feels, in SILHOUETTED SOUL by Kevin Parish, is an experience not soon forgotten. Breath-taking! I also went to Kevin’s blog and read several other breath-taking poetry. Kevin does not write with a veil, he take you deep within his heart and soul. Stunning!

Kevin, my pleasure and thank you. Your poetry to me, is with words to express it adequately: stunning, deeply heartfelt, and beautiful. You removed the veil that often clouds other people’s poetry, including mine, but not you, it comes from a very deep place and because it does, it just reaches deeper with much more meaning, feeling, and beautiful expressed – breath-taking. Thank you for sharing. Karen Anna 🙂

Awe! There you go again… You are delightful. You would see the blush were you here. I just finished my first book and it’s on Amazon. I believe the release date is August 31st. My wife was my editor, and she said it was difficult to read all the poems in one sitting as several of them are very emotional or cause a reaction. I think that is confirmatin! I look forward to more of your work, and thank you for following me and mine! ;-)))

Kevin, I only say what is true (I have no veil either) and soon, later this week you may get a big surprize, because I have been asked by many to reveal certain gifts I was born with in a very paranormal way. Oh my gosh, but a promise is a promise!

I look forward to your poetry book. I do collect volumes of poetry. It is one of my favorite forms of communication. I have a few, but nothing compared to yours.
