Is that a wren? There are many Bewick’s wrens living around here, and I like hearing their voices, which are surprisingly loud for such small birds.

Yes, Audrey… they have the most amazing song, don’t they?

Several different versions, too, as well as other sounds. A few years ago, a pair of wrens nested in an old shoe on a shelf in my back porch, so I got to know them well.

Both my son and I have them in our gardens… and they are delightful little creatures. One comes right up to the door foraging.

Great – and cute – haiku, Sue! I love wrens, they’re so small but they make such a loud noise! Always lovely to see. 🙂
