Elusive realities and strange encounters? Be my guest!

Today’s entertainment contains a huge amount of folklore, paranormal and supernatural experiences to titilate and intrigue us. Ghosts, out of body experiences and encounters with other realities have become the stock-in-trade of the fiction writer and sensationalism undeniably sells. But what of the sometimes small, but inexplicable events that change an individual’s perception of reality? The true stories that leave their mark on heart, mind and belief?

After posting a strange experience of my own, a number of people left comments detailing their own experiences, which I invited them to share. These are all true stories… genuine and moving moments for those who lived them, regardless of what others may choose to believe them to be.

No definitive explanations are given, because, with the current scope of our knowledge, none are possible, though each of us have our own beliefs.

It is my hope, shared by those who have contributed to this series, that in telling our stories, we can open a subject too often weighed down by superstition and dismissal and create a space where such experiences may be shared and discussed without prejudice.

If you have had a strange experience or encounter that you would like to share, please get in touch with me at findme@scvincent.com (or my usual email if you already have it) and we can discuss a guest post.

I am not looking for sensationalism or fictional tales… but in light of the response to recent posts, I think it would be both useful and reassuring to others to realise that none of us are alone in these strange encounters and experiences and perhaps we can open discussion on what they may be or may mean.

If you would like to share your story but prefer to remain anonymous, we can discuss that too. If you would like to share your beliefs and opinions on the nature of these experiences, I would be happy to talk about a guest post. Through sharing with respect we may learn to understand our world and each other a little better.

My thanks to all who have chosen to share their stories so far:

I do believe sharing these stories is important. There is far more in the world than we realize or understand. Thank you for posting the list, as I have not yet read some of the stories.
