I’ve written several poems about sun sets using photos taken when we were on the river for illustration. There is something magical about the sky at sunset or sunrise, the one retiring after a glorious day and the other bringing the promise of another.

I wrote this back in August 2015, so it would have been on our first trip to Stratford Upon Avon. We were at Comberton Quay, a quiet little mooring jetty just before Pershore, one of the deepest and heaviest locks on the river.
Those night skies and early dawns were wondrous in their colours.
