#writephoto regulars – Meet Ashwini Nawathe

I asked the writephoto challenge regulars if they would like to come over and introduce themselves. Today we meet Ashwini Nawathe from Kaleidoscope of my Life.

Without those of you who write and read the pieces inspired by the weekly photos, the writephoto prompt would not exist. So, if you follow or take part in the weekly challenge, why come over and introduce yourself too?

Being a regular does not mean taking part every week… so why not drop me a line?

Well, I always find it weird to talk about myself and I’m still struggling with it as I did for my first assignment for Buddhist Studies class. But here’s a sneak peek into my life.I’m a nature lover, a trekker and an ardent reader from Mumbai, India. After playing Lawyer for a time, I shifted to my passion and love – History! Acquiring a Masters degree in Ancient Indian Culture and Archaeology, I now work a 9 to 6 job as a Senior Executive (Research), and Content Writer for an Online Museum which helps me earn my bread and butter that is ultimately spent on travelling and exploring historical avenues. 😛

In my free time, I teach History and French to undergraduate students and most of my weekends are spent freelancing as a Heritage Walk Leader with Sahapedia, a Delhi based NGO. Whilst juggling with all these things, I try to find time and space to fit in my obsession with dancing and manage to perform in a few Kathak programmes and dance dramas.

Being in my late 20s, I’m still trying to find my place in this world. I think as I get older, I’ll figure it out. But until then…the Kaleidoscope of My Life will continue to surprise me! J

As to my blog, I’m a tad bit of a crazy writer with lots of gumption. My inspiration for writing primarily comes from my grandmother who was an excellent poet and used to write regularly for Hallmark’s Marathi greeting cards. It was her dream to see my write-ups and blogs published. But been a bit of an introvert, I obviously said no and eventually got a few of my poems published as a eulogy to her. And since then I have never looked back. She wanted the world to read my words and that’s what I’m trying to do…Create a world of my words for her.

I’m really grateful to Sue for hosting the weekly #writephoto prompt challenge; because it’s her prompts that really do push me to try my hand at different genres in writing and make me come out of my conform zones. And I’m not just being modest or fake when I say; my blog has swelled in numbers of follows, likes and comments because of her and other awesome people who participate in her challenges and continue to show their love for my writing!

Thanks you fellas. Happy Blogging to you!

Cheers,

Ash J

Drifting Clouds

Sometimes I drift away

crossing the time limits

following the rivers way

or climbing the higher summits

*

Happily with the birds I fly

or join the wolves while they cry

Sometimes I like to be the sun

sole and aloof from everyone

The moon is my best friend at times

for I like to be with the loved one’s of mine

*

Occasionally like a pond of water

I sit uninterested, whatever the matter

Sometimes I am the waterfall

spraying drops of happiness on one and all

I can be as gentle as the winter sun

or a bolt of lightning as the tempers run

*

Do not try to understand

for I am as unpredictable as I am told

Do not try to stretch your hand

for drifting clouds you cannot hold….

*
