#writephoto regulars: Meet Willow Willers

I asked the writephoto challenge regulars if they would like to come over and introduce themselves. I would like you to meet Willow Willers who writes at willowdot21.

Without those of you who write and read the pieces inspired by the weekly photos, the writephoto prompt would not exist. So, if you follow or take part in the weekly challenge… and that does not mean you have to take part every week…why come over and introduce yourself too? Just drop me a line…

Hello everyone I love reading all your poems and stories on Sue’s #writephoto each week. This prompt has grown like Topsy and under Sue’s guiding hand and camera lenses we are tested every week.

Just lately Sue has invited us as her regular contributors to introduce ourselves. I have really enjoyed reading about those who have made themselves known so far. It is so interesting to read about these lovely people and what makes them tick.

What to say about me…. Well unlike most of those who have written about themselves so far I have not finished or published any books.

I am a mum and a grandma, married and shared twolegs, with my hubby, to the lovely Ruby our beautiful Labrador.

I was born in London but I now live in Berkshire.

I went to a convent school and was bullied by staff and pupils alike, I hated school and left without any qualifications of any sort at fifteen. I became a window dresser and I was married by seventeen. I had our first son one week before my 19th birthday. We have three boys and we lost two girls and now we have two grandsons.

I have broken my back twice, the second time rather badly resulting in a long stay in hospital and three operations. Anyway I am not going into that now but it did give me some positives. Firstly it showed me who my real friends were ..so many just disappeared from my life. I was unable to return to my job so I had a forced retirement. The main blessing though was a pain therapist suggested I write about my pain and fears. Hence  my blog was born. I cringe when I look at my early poems, they are so miserable and depressing but it served a purpose and now I hope my stories and poems are more diverse.

I have met so many wonderful people here on WordPress they have supported me and helped me more than I could ever of expected. I really hope I have done the same for them.

I do have lots of faults my biggest is I have started many stories that could be books some even whole stories ready to go but I am not brave enough to take the step to publishing.

I am a huge fan of the Annual Bloggers Bash I have attended three out of the four that have happened so far. I love meeting other bloggers.

I come from a large family we were bought up in a small terrace house, we always had lots of extended family, friends, friends of friends and waifs and strays off the street staying at our house. Mum and Dad never turned anyone away from our door and Mum could always stretch a meal for eight to feed fifteen! 

I think that is where my love of people and being social comes from.

 I think I am a spiritual person I believe in God who ever he or she is I also believe in Mother Nature/ Gaia or whatever name you may call her. I also believe in angels, fairies and white magic. I do love to write about all these things and I also love to write about witches, vampires and werewolves ….

I am what you see, I am nothing special I am me and I am happy to say blogging and all you wonderful people have saved my life and sanity on more than one occasion.

I love cooking, walking and holidays!

So that it for now I hope I have not rambled on too much  looking forward to reading more about you all.

Born of confusion

Sitting on tomorrow’s shore
Wandering just what I am here for.
My brother crows remind me of the tales of old.
When good deeds were done
And rewards were paid in gold.
Every maiden had her day
Each young Knight his courtship would his damsel pay.

Tell me brother crow most dear
Why are those days no longer here.
Where are all the happy endings gone.
Do they only exist in song.
I feel so lost in this cruel world of men.
Where dreams have been banished never to be seen again

Sue Vincent was a Yorkshire born writer, esoteric teacher and a Director of The Silent Eye. She was immersed in the Mysteries all her life. Sue maintained a popular blog and is co-author of The Mystical Hexagram with Dr G.M.Vasey. Sue lived in Buckinghamshire, having been stranded there due to an accident with a blindfold, a pin and a map. She had a lasting love-affair with the landscape of Albion, the hidden country of the heart. Sue  passed into spirit at the end of March 2021.

    Lovely to read about you Willow! Glad to have met you on Sue’s venue. I love your stories and think you ought to take a gander at publishing, if you so choose. Would be great to read a tale of witches and brew!

    I’ve read so many of Willow’s poems that it was lovely to get to know her a little. I was struck most by her statement that she found positives in a broken back. I understand that from my own tragedies, but it’s still eye-opening when someone says/writes it. A beautiful poem, Willow. Thanks for the post, Sue. ❤
