If you are on your dashboard and you go to Reader (I don’t know what dashboard you are using because they keep “fixing it” and this latest fix has REALLY fixed it but good). Open Reader, go down to “Search” and type in your name. See what you get. If you are lucky, you will see most or all of your posts including recent posts.
If you are me, you will find nothing — not the name of your site or your name or any post from your site at all. Almost everyone else can find at least their older posts. In my case, I effectively do not exist in the WordPress search engine.
Why is this such a big deal? Because the search engine — otherwise known as “the database” — is how WordPress hangs together. It’s the core information about…

We all need to pass this along. I think a lot of people do not yet realize were the problem is. This is affecting, as far as I can tell at this point … absolutely EVERY blogger on WordPress.

It definitely needs sorting. The last big problem, when they ‘lost’ the reblog button, was because they had deleted a bunch of old code and the reblog button with it. What’s betting this is part of that too….

Earlier versions of WordPress had this problem. I have had no such problems since release 4 of the product. I wonder if it is an implementation problem with your host.

It seems to be hit and miss, and the more recent posts are not showing up for most people.

When I searched for me, everything I’ve posted on all of my blogs was up to date. That’s WP, for you. Go figure.

Typical… but then, they’ve been working on it now for a few days, so perhaps they are getting the darned thing sorted.

BTW, when I searched for Marilyn’s keywords, I did it when I was logged in, and when I wasn’t, and I used two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox). Worked like a charm every time. As the saying goes, “Something is rotten in Denmark.”
