‘As one door closes, another opens, or at least a window’.
It was one of Nanna’s favourite sayings, especially when things were not going to plan and disappointment always seemed to be knocking.
‘There are doors of opportunity,’ she’d say, ‘doors of decision, and doors of foolishness. Whichever one you chose, it is, afterall, your choice and you must make the best of it.’
Nell had certainly had her fair share of bad calls, or ‘wrong doors’ throughout her life.
