“To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
I wait to see her face from day to day,
No chicken bits throughout this endless time;
She left me yesterday, an errant fool,
To drive the dusty road. Out, out, short two-legs!
And me? a walking shadow, a poor small dog,
Who tuts and frets while she goes on her way,
My name is called no more. I wag my tail
And feel an idiot, out of bounds and furry,
Signifying nothing.”
Macbeth, I know, but as she’s driving up there to Macbeth country for a workshop, I felt a bit of appropriate tragedy was in order.
Me? I’m with my friends again while she’s gallivanting. I’ll be well looked after and have fun…but you needn’t tell her that, not when I could have been sharing smelly beaches with Peri, who looks after Barb Taub… or running through empty hills. I might even have met Dante, who looks after Adele… but no. I get to stay home.
Again.
Not fair.
Mind you, she did say she’d try to bring me a wild haggis home. I’m not sure what they taste like, but she says they have one leg shorter than the other… and I hope that doesn’t mean they have only one drumstick to nibble…
Anyway, as she’s not around, I think I will go and play mope in a corner.
She’s going to be ages yet… even though she says it is only a few days…
Much love,
Ani xxx
That was pretty good Shaxpur! I’m impressed. I especially liked.
“And feel an idiot, out of bounds and furry,
Signifying nothing.”
Out of bounds and furry. I may need to use that line. It’s just too good to use only once!

I’m sorry she went away again. I hate when they do that. Hope the haggis thing is worth the time without her. Lots of licks, Lilie

Aw, Ani, if you lived closer you could come stay with us, chase Garfield around and swim in our pool. And take nice walks in the woods. In the meantime, enjoy being with your friends and then give your two-legged what for when she comes home!!

Legally chasing cats? Do you live in heaven?? 😉

Well, Garfield is a complete coward, so he would run and hide. But you might get a brief chase in!

Poor little Ani. All alone again. I love the Shakespeare, though. You should do more of it. Perhaps we’ll see you as Macbeth in a doggy version of the play. Or would you prefer to be Hamlet or Othello?

Ani seems rather fond of Macbeth 😉 https://scvincent.com/2017/03/27/ani-does-macbeth-the-dog-treat-scene/

Hi Ani. Maggie here. Your two legs will be back before you know it. Treats of wild haggis eh? Lucky you. I had some chicken yesterday, and pie. Best bit is the new meat stuff being put in my dish for me to take my meds. hehe. Spoilt rotten ❤ ❤

Shh… mine still thinks I have to have chicken to take tablets. Don’t make her swap for anything else 😉 xx

Poor Ani. My folks went away and booked me into a pet hotel. Sure there was a pool, big comfy sofas and even a widescreen TV with lots of other dogs to play with. But I still think they could have taken me along. They said I was a pampered pooch. They better take me along next time. I can’t be bought. Bow wow, Dot

Hey Dot. I wouldn’t like that either… at least I get to stay with canine ‘family’. But she’ll still feel guilty about it by the time I’ve done with her… 😉 xx
