Many years ago, when my hair was still red, and my body was not covered with life’s roadmaps, I actually worked at White Sands Proving Grounds for one of the big aerospace companies of the day.  I would record information from missiles coming toward White Sands from Green River, Utah, and that would often mean getting up at 3 AM and driving the 90 miles go get there.  Once there, I would go to our site, a strange-looking metal tower with a roof that opened from the top, the four sides sliding down so that we could record data from the oncoming missile we always hoped would be exploded before it reached anywhere near us.

Now this particular morning on my way to the site, a long drive once I got to White Sands Proving Grounds, I saw a strange looking flying object coming in fast.  There was a hangar not too far away, and as that flying object came speeding in, it suddenly dived straight down and dived right into that hangar.  Now this flying mystery was really fast, and I was certain that disaster was about to strike.  But instead, once the plane entered the hangar, it apparently shut down and stayed in there.  There was no explosion or smoke or anything to indicate it had even been in the air minutes ago.  I will never forget seeing that.

I saw lots of strange things in that area. It is one of those really eerie areas that no one quite understands. There are ancient powers at work there, ones that go back to the primitive times when strange creatures still walked the earth. Things have happened over the many years that to this day, no one really understands. It is something that I hope others on this group will come forward to contribute to. I look forward to reading it all.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I never saw that hangar again. It is as though it disappeared.

I am a young-minded senior mentor, advocate, and activist for physically, developmentally, and emotionally physically challenged adults and children. Sometime in the late 60’s, my younger and only sibling came home from Vietnam 100% disabled, and it gave me the heart to do this work, which I have been doing ever since.

I am also an activist for anti-bullying of any age or race of person. I pretty much say what I think and think what I say; no game playing or untruths here. I am the editor of a book filled with the writings of the lives of 23 physically challenged fiber artists, Artful Alchemy: Physically Challenged Fiber Artists Creating, and also Pumpkin, Pumpkin: Folklore, History, Planting Care, and Good Eating. The second book is in its 3rd Edition, and is currently being revamped to include a paperback. I have two children’s books awaiting illustrations and final formatting and editing, and I have a book on quilt history awaiting my time and attention when the others are completed.

I am a professional artist in mixed media, urban art, and fiber arts, and I have had my own businesses and careers most of my life.
