Photo prompt round up – The tunnel #writephoto

“The job of a storyteller is to speak the truth. But what we feel most deeply can’t be spoken in words alone. At this level, only images connect. And here, story becomes symbol; symbol is myth. And myth is truth.” ― Alan Garner

The photo for this week’s prompt was taken at Alderley Edge in a mysterious cavern that stretches back into the darkness. The Edge is famed for its legends of witches and its associations with Alan Garner, the writer of such classics as The Owl Service and The Weirdstone of Brisingamen. There will be more to come on our adventures at Alderley Edge…

“I’m for uncertainty. As soon as you think you know, you’re done for. You don’t listen and you can’t hear. If you’re certain of anything, you shut the door on the possibility of revelation, of discovery. You can think. You can believe. But you can’t, you mustn’t, ‘know’. There’s the real Entropy.” ― Alan Garner

If you have written a piece for this week’s challenge and it does not appear below, please leave a link in the comments and I will add it to the list. Pingbacks do not always get through.

Thank you to everyone who took part this week… as always, you have created some w. Please click on the links below to visit all the posts and leave a comment for the author! A new prompt will be published later today and I will reblog as many as I can through the week as they come in and all contributions will be featured in the round-up on Thursday.

Come and join in!

Man caught in the light at the end of the tunnel

Tunnel vision

*

There is always light

At the end of the tunnel

Where life and death meet

Each permeates the other

Shadows cast beyond the veil.

*

There is always night

A shroud of darkness waiting

To give or receive

Both tomb and womb giving birth

To the soul placed in their care.

*

There is always light

At the end of the tunnel

Stronger than shadows

The past is consumed, subsumed

By its liminal lustre

*
