Stories

sheffield book weekend 234Have you ever wanted to be the hero or heroine in a story? You are, of course, in your own story, a tale you write on the pages of history every day. Each story is unique yet many of the underlying themes have something in common and all recount a journey of a lifetime.

That is why the Silent Eye takes the unusual approach of teaching through stories… journeys into an inner landscape that captures the imagination and emotions and lets you decide your role for yourself.

The Silent Eye is a modern Mystery school that takes an very different look at the spiritual journey and we are running a number of events throughout the year. These events are open to all, not simply to school members and are always innovative, fun and thought-provoking. We see no reason why the spiritual journey should be heavy or boring. Come along and join us at one of the talks or for our workshop!

The Land of the Exiles

Our fully catered, residential weekend in the beautiful hills of Derbyshire runs from 11-13th April 2014. The beautiful little village will see a space ship crash land; the crew, awakening from their cryogenic sleep to find themselves under the control of the ship’s computer, bent on discovering the inner nature of mankind and his fascination with the gods. Yet the crew have help, the consciousness of the planet itself… the Mindstream… comes to their aid….

Each Companion plays a part, a fully scripted role in a series of ritual dramas… living their character for the weekend.  There are also a series of interactive sessions of lectures and shared knowledge… and the evenings are a time to simply relax and have fun… and there is a lovely old pub next door.

Full details and booking forms are available on the School website, www.thesilenteye.co.uk and  further details can also be found by clicking here.

The Self Detectives

The School is also running a bi-monthly series of talks in Glastonbury, in association with the Glastonbury Pilgrim Reception Centre. Again we are taking the innovative approach of using a story… Two stories…

Glaston weekend 086Harry is a scientific journalist, Nicola an artist, both have a background seeking that spiritual truth that resonates with their own inner self… both have come to Glastonbury to try and find it. They do not know each other… yet they share a similar quest… perhaps, at some point, they will meet?

The story will illustrate their individual journeys, from the perspective of mind and heart, and provide the basis for the talks and guided journeys of the evenings. At the end of the year their journey will become a book that will include the essence of the year’s discoveries and the ideas and contribution of those who attend.

The evenings run from 7.00 -9.00 pm and will take a varied and interactive approach.

The school operates online, apart from the events Beth, but we wanted to make the journey vivid and fun nonetheless…. stories engage us on so many levels.
I hope you can one day too 🙂
