You decide that what you really need to do is to engineer a getting way from all that had gone before and find a method of opening the pages of a new book – the book of your own Soul, in which you could note your progress as your resolve strengthened. You would keep everything that you had found helpful, but you would weave it into something new; a tapestry of your own making. In that way, you could not lie to yourself, could not hide behind habit.
