Freedom…

Deep
The fear
In silence
Slowly growing
Born of ancient roots
With infinite patience
Awaiting its chance to feed
Accepting any form offered
The predator stalks its prey unseen
Dragging unwary minds into blackness
No escape from its terrible assault
Eyes must open to the glint of light
Glimmering beyond the shadows
Stars mark the path of release
Points of hope at midnight
Showing the way home
Beyond ourselves
Reclaiming
Freedom’s
Grace

Three brilliant lines tell a long and terrible story. It’s hard not to feel like prey these days.

It does feel that way at the moment… and yet, I can’t help thinking that one of the things that puts me in a panic faster than anything else is a tiny and harmless creature. Wet worms are not predators… but the phobic ‘fear’ they engender makes tem worse than a crocodile to me 😉

Our fears can trap us. Releasing them is a difficult task. (K)
